Ijeoma Abalogu

 

Ijeoma is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group of the Firm. She heads the Business Advisory and Regulatory Compliance Unit of the Firm. She has over 16 years practice experience and has advised several multinational companies and investors on all regulatory matters relating to doing business in Nigeria, as well as completed registration and obtaining relevant licenses and approvals for corporate clients including Statoil, Baker Hughes, Parker Drilling, Vmonitor and several other companies. She also provides corporate governance and compliance advice to clients with regard to doing business in Nigeria.

Ijeoma has practical “hands-on” experience in dealing with various regulatory agencies in Nigeria and regularly advises clients and assists with the processing of various investments, regulatory and operational permits and approvals. She also oversees the provision of company secretarial services to a large number of companies both domestic and international. Ijeoma also focuses on international investments and immigration practices and procedure, as well as Intellectual Property Law. She is also a registered professional with the Federal Reporting Council of Nigeria. Ijeoma also doubles as the Director of Administration for the Firm with the responsibility for overseeing the Human Resource and Administration Department of the Firm.

Select Experiences

Participated with the corporate team in the winding-up of the subsidiary of a multi-national oil servicing firm and assisted in ensuring that outstanding (debts) receivables are recovered on behalf of the company.

Represented African Capital Alliance, a leading African private equity company, in conducting legal due diligence and structuring a management buy-in culminating in a purchase of equities worth $15 million USD.

Acted for a land drilling company in an $18 million private equity investment.

Advised and assistd several clients on the establishment of Nigerian subsidiaries and procuring relevant pre-investment and operational approvals, licenses and permits.
