Ayoade’s main area of interest is Commercial Litigation and he is a member of the litigation group at Gbenga Biobaku & Co.

Ayoade is an astute litigator with over 21 years ‘hands-on experience and has represented clients in proceedings at various Courts in Nigeria, including appeals at the Court of Appeal. Ayo has conducted several litigation matters on a wide range of issues as diverse as energy, employment, intellectual property disputes, commercial transactions, and real estate matters. Ayo has also advised clients and participated in a number of arbitration matters.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria Branch. Ayo also provides support to the Corporate / Commercial team with regard to due diligence matters.

Represented clients on various tax and regulatory disputes.

Provided representation for an international professional services firm in a N1.4 billion action involving the preparation of a report by it on the issue of the incorrectly stated profit by a publicly quoted company in Nigeria.

Represented a multi-national oil company with regards to issues raised by several different human rights organisations in respect of a labour matter regarding one of its employees.

Advised a multinational oil service company with regards to its liabilities and responsibilities in connection with the environmental impact of the company’s drilling activities in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria.

Advised African Capital Alliance, a leading private equity firm in Nigeria in connection with the acquisition and financing of an interest in a gas processing plant involving a combination of equity and mezzanine finance and reviewing and advising on the various Gas Agreements and the EPC contract.

Advised a Nigerian company involved in the provision of underwater dive activities within the Nigerian oil and gas industry on the liability for the loss of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV).

Represented a multi-national oil service company in a law suit with regards to illegally imposed taxes by a local government authority.

Advised African Capital Alliance, a leading private equity firm in Nigeria in connection with the acquisition of controlling interest and financing of the pre-eminent cash-in-transit operator in Nigeria.

Advised African Capital Alliance, a leading private equity firm in Nigeria in connection with the merger of two of the biggest insurance providers in Nigeria.

Represented a franchisor in a suit with regard to the breach of the terms of a franchise agreement by a franchisee.
