Joseph Omoba


Joseph is a member of the Corporate/Commercial team of the firm. He has an LLB from the University of Benin and has been called to the Nigerian Bar. Prior to joining GBC, Joseph worked as an associate in Professor Yemi Akinseye-George (SAN) & Partners, a leading law firm in Abuja, where he was involved in legislative drafting and litigation.

Joseph is engaged in providing quality legal services to a wide range of Energy and Corporate/Commercial Clients. He has considerable experience in different areas of law especially in Oil and Gas, Taxation, Finance, Real Estate, Property management and emerging practice areas.

Select Experiences

Drafted several contracts for the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) as part of the team that developed the Oil and Gas Contracts Templates for the NPDC.

Advised major oil and gas companies on issues relating with regulatory compliance, renewal of Oil Prospecting Licenses (OPLs) and Oil Mining Lease (OMLs), and commercial transactions and projects.

Provided drafting and legislative support to the Technical Team advising the National Assembly on the Petroleum Industry Reform Bills.

Acted as member of the team of solicitors that represented Niger State in the structuring and negotiation of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement for the Minna/Suleja Water Concession Project.

Acted as member of the Technical Committee that drafted the Administration of Criminal Justice Bill for Kaduna State.
