Friday January 11, 2019

Gbenga Biobaku & Co. (GBC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Ayoade Oluwasanmi to partnership of the firm.

Ayoade is well established and embedded in GBC’s culture of excellence, professionalism and service having joined GBC as a Junior Associate in 2005, growing and developing with the firm as it grew and expanded. He previously served as an intern in the firm while he was still an undergraduate as well as during his time at the Nigerian Law School, a period spanning 2 years.

With over 14 years hands on litigation and dispute resolution experience, Ayoade is a passionate and seasoned litigator. He has represented the firm’s corporate and private clients in diverse litigation matters and arbitral proceedings arising from various commercial transactions spanning oil and gas, banking and finance, taxation, investment disputes, employment, and real estate. Ayoade regularly appears for clients in various courts across Nigeria, including at the Court of Appeal, and before regulatory agencies and other governmental bodies. He has represented the firm’s clients at several parliamentary investigations and hearings before the Nigerian National Assembly, and also provides support to GBC's Corporate and Commercial team on legal due diligence assignments.

Ayoade holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Ambrose Alli University, is a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch).

He loves playing chess, reading novels, and has an avid interest in football. Ayoade also takes a keen interest in current affairs as evidenced by his participation in 2009 in the TV current affairs game show: “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, in which he made it to the “hot seat” and won N2million.

We are confident Ayoade’s appointment as a Partner further enriches our litigation team and greatly strengthens GBC for now and into the future.
