Lola is a Corporate Partner at Gbenga Biobaku & Co., and has extensive experience and expertise in handling large scale commercial transactions particularly transactions involving the banking and financial services industry.

Previously at First Atlantic Bank Limited, she was the Legal Adviser/Company Secretary, and has over 15 years of practical 'hands on' experience of corporate/commercial law. Prior to joining First Atlantic Bank, she was in the legal department of Union Bank where she advised on a variety of legal matters involving the Bank.

Whilst at Union Bank and First Atlantic, she was involved in the negotiation and documentation of several banking transactions and the negotiation and drafting of various commercial contracts. Lola was part of the team of lawyers that worked on the acquisition by Union Bank of a Merchant Banking subsidiary, where she was responsible for employment matters.

Lola is a graduate of Ogun State University where she obtained her LLB in 1990 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. She also holds a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Lagos and an MBA from IESE, University of Navarra, Barcelona, Spain.

She has attended various courses and seminars locally and abroad including courses at IESE, Barcelona, Spain and INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.

Lola is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. She speaks fluent Yoruba and English and has a fair working knowledge of the French language.

• Advising on the acquisition of a merchant-banking subsidiary by Union Bank of Nigeria PLC.

• Advising on the acquisition of Flexcube banking software by Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and Finnacle banking software by First Atlantic Bank Ltd.

• Advising on the acquisition of an Internet Based Money Transfer facility by First Atlantic Bank Ltd.

• Advising on the setting up of a Staff Share Investment scheme by First Atlantic Bank Ltd.

• Advising and documenting various syndicated facilities relating to Peugeot Automobile Nigeria, Intel Oil Services, G.Cappa, International Distillers, Victoria Garden Hotels and several other leading companies.

• Drafting, reviewing and advising on various Security Documentation including but not limited to Legal Mortgages, Debentures (Fixed, Floating and Mortgage), Equipment Leases including Sale and Lease Back contracts, pledges, guarantees and indemnities.

• Conducting market research and putting together the business plan of Venture Partners a start up Venture Capital Company focused on offering financial and managerial support to small and medium scale enterprises.
