Oil and Gas Litigation
In our oil and gas litigation, we have been involved in defending our clients in claims for compensation arising from exposures to chemical and other materials instituted by the communities where they operate. Where necessary and desirable, we have instead of a lengthy litigation with its attendant cost, negotiated settlements with some of the communities within the level recommended by our client. Gbenga Biobaku & Co. represented Baker Hughes to negotiate and settle compensation claims following Baker Hughes’ acquisition of Western Atlas. 

General Commercial Litigation
Gbenga Biobaku & Co. have representedmajor oil companies and oil servicing companies in several commercial litigation involving employment and labour issues and regulatory issues as well as other general matters. We have been involved in litigation matters for StatoilHydro, Parker Drilling, Teleglobe America Inc. and Baker Hughes and some of its affiliated companies.  Where appropriate, we have negotiated settlement of some actions in order to achieve a commercially effective solution on behalf of our client.

Arbitration
At Gbenga Biobaku & Co. in the course of advising our clientele we mediate and conciliate disputes that may arise during the course of negotiations. Where such disputes are not resolved amicably, we represent our clients at the arbitration proceedings. Recently, Gbenga Biobaku & Co. successfully represented a multinational accounting and consulting firm in arbitration proceedings in respect of the renewal of the lease for its office facility.
